When Jesus told the parable he said: “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’ “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’ “ ‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’ “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
Jesus did not tell this parable for Lazarus, rich man or even his five brothers but said it for you and me. And, just like Scrooge said in Dickens Christmas Carol "the heart(s) of man can change” “why show us these things if we're beyond hope”
I finish where I started may God bless you everyone!
For God so loved the world (you & me) that he gave his one and only Son (Jesus), that whoever (you or I) believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son (Jesus) into the world to condemn the world (you & me), but to save the world (you & me) through him. '
